 As an exact replica of the Eldred Wireless #12, this individually handcrafted antique-style tabletop lighter is the perfect addition for any smoke-friendly environment. Not only is it a useful cigar accessory, but also adds to a room's decor and is an interesting conversation piece. Originally appearing between 1910 and 1920, the lighters were familiar sights and lit countless cigars in hotel lobbies, taverns, drug stores, and virtually all tobacco shops. Considered a novelty at a time when electricity was still uncommon, ignition for the lighter's fluid-soaked wick was provided by an electric spark. Today's units share the same authentic exterior, but use modern electronic ignition and reliable up-to-date components. The lighters are operated by pulling a small lever, which activates the igniter. Releasing the handle extinguishes the flame, which emanates from a tube. The antique cigar lighter is available in 2 finishes; Oak with Antique Brass and Walnut with Antique Brass. All metal parts are triple plated to ensure the highest quality. Both metal and wood components are clear lacquer coated to ensure a durable, easy to maintain finish. Requires 6 "D" batteries and Zippo lighter fluid. |
